“Soft Frames” is a temporary installation I created by sewing sheer curtains of tulle in various shades and suspending them in trees above the ocean. Similar to my glasses pieces in the past, this artwork captures the dispersal of light through a colored medium. Its interaction with wind creates a dynamic, kinetic experience.

Shadows of Light” is an installation I created for the Tannery Arts Center and Santa Cruz Arts Council. Each morning and evening our world is altered by a surreal glow. Golden and pink light paint our vision as the sun rises and sets. Inspired by this wash of color that changes our ordinary perception of the environment, Shadows of Light seeks to add a playful sense of surreality to the surrounding landscape. The sculpture is made up of three large colorful ‘windows’, handcrafted in wood in various shapes and sizes, installed facing South to maximize light, casting playful shadows. These magical frames invite the viewer to reimagine the surrounding landscape through bold sunset-inspired colors.

“Windows” was the precursor installation to Shadows of Light, a playful temporary creation of bobbing glass and colorful shadows suspended on a cliff over the ocean.
