How I Edit Film Guide
How I Edit Film Guide
I’m passionate about editing my film because color is possibly my favorite part of photography. Editing allows me to create a distinctive color palette that I think brings out the best in my film scans. Color is a powerful tool that helps tell a story and set a mood.
What’s in the guide:
16 page pdf overview of my process, all the tools and apps I use, and the intentions behind my editing.
3 screencast videos (~30 min total) of me going through edits start to finish, showing all the steps I take that you can watch/rewatch on your own time.
In this guide I focus on editing on my laptop desktop rather than mobile, but might cover that in a future guide as I do sometimes edit on my phone too.
What you’ll learn:
Tools to manage your film photo editing process from downloading your scans to posting on Instagram.
Lightroom tools to enhance your photos (especially color grading, tone curve, and masking).
Tips on developing your own cohesive editing style and color preferences.
My ‘secret sauce’ techniques to create rich, vibrant tones in my film photos.
In buying my guide, you buy me a roll of film and hopefully I help you get more out of the film you already have in your archives. :)

“I’ve used Lightroom for quite some time, but I never had a workflow I felt confident with. Well, everything is different now, now that I went through @caitlinfullam’s Lightroom course. The course itself is aim at film photographers, so don’t tell her that my shots are digital please. She’s also way under charging for it. “
